VMware is announcing the End of Availability (EoA) of vRealize Log Insight for vCenter Server starting with the next release and all future releases of Log Insight. The current version of Log Insight, version 4.6.x, is the last release that will support the Log Insight for vCenter Server capability. The next release will not accept vCenter Server license keys for activation.
vRealize Log Insight for vCenter Server continues to be available for Log Insight versions up to 4.6.x, until the End of General Support of vRealize Log Insight 4.6.x on August 23, 2019. Please refer to the VMware Lifecycle Product Matrix for the latest updates of EOGS date for vRealize Log Insight 4.6.x. Please note that vRealize Log Insight standalone, within vRealize Suite and vCloud Suite, Log Insight for NSX, and for VMware Cloud Foundation, are not impacted.
VMware gives away a 25-OSI pack of vRealize Log Insight 3.3 for all users with a supported vCenter Server license. VMware vRealize Log Insight is a log management software with intuitive dashboards, sophisticated analytics and broad third-party extensibility. Feb 10, 2016 VMware announced that all users with a supported vCenter Server license are entitled to a 25-OSI pack of vRealize Log Insight 3.3 for vCenter Server, at no charge. Log Insight 3.3 for vCenter Server will accept any vCenter Server 6.0 Standard, Enterprise, or Enterprise Plus license. You obtain an evaluation license when you download vRealize Log Insight from the VMware Web site. This license is valid for 60 days. When the evaluation license expires, you must assign a permanent license to continue using vRealize Log Insight. As part of solution interoperability, VMware NSX users or Standard, Advanced, or Enterprise editions can license vRealize Log Insight with their NSX license key.
